Axiz Field Services puts service into IT across Africa.

Newly rebranded Axiz Field Services is building on decades of pan-African technical support experience, making both hardware, software and remote IT support services available to vendors and the channel across the continent.

Axiz Field Services, a division of Mauritius-based Alviva International, is born out of Tricon Services, a company formed in 2003 to offer IBM technical support in Africa.

The company grew its footprint across the continent; and evolved into a trusted vendor- and brand-agnostic support service. Now part of the Alviva group, the company has been rebranded as Axiz Field Services.

Axiz Field Services Managing Executive Patrick Reeves says the company has a proud tradition of putting people into IT and old-fashioned service into the concept of services: “Whether we’re maintaining and patching systems to keep business running, decommissioning hardware, or sourcing urgently-needed USB sticks across borders, our engineers go the extra mile to make our customers’ lives easier,” he says.

A key value proposition for the company is its extensive African footprint, built up over 20 years. “This is arguably our biggest selling point,” says Reeves. “We have a presence in 34 countries across Africa; in many cases we have registered corporate entities with physical offices staffed by local nationals, and in some cases we have engineers on-site for customers.

Our team of over 160 experts also includes sales and support managers for East, West and North Africa. Their years of experience and the fact that they are nationals means that our teams have granular insight into the markets, conditions on the ground and the logistics of getting things done in countries where some multinationals may be cautious of operating.”

Axiz Field Services runs the Dell warranty centres in Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia and the Lenovo support centres in Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya; and partners with leading brands including IBM, Absa, Airtel, TAAG, Cargill, PUMA, AstraZeneca, Diageo and Shell at operations across the continent.

Reeves says in the past, most of the company’s services might have been described as ‘analogue’ technical support, but the company is upskilling and expanding its team to offer ‘digital’ software support and remote services. Axiz Field Services manages vendor and system integrator deployments and delivers post implementation maintenance support, with its portfolio of services including end-user computing services, enterprise services, hardware recycling and disposal, infrastructure project management, international deployment roll-outs, IT auditing, remediation, vendor management and service transition, managed services, procurement, warranty fulfilment, virtualisation services and staff augmentation.
